Plastic Surgery

Doctor Laurent Dumas offers all plastic and aesthetic surgery procedures for women and men. Aesthetic surgery has become considerably more democratic in recent years. Plastic surgeons can be called upon more freely and more simply to correct a defect or slow down the effects of aging. The modern world tends to value youthfulness, and professional life sometimes puts us under pressure to look good.

But above all, the tremendous increase in life expectancy naturally means that we have to worry about our physical image for longer. After 60, life goes on: active, sentimental… Beyond these societal observations, cosmetic surgery is intimately linked to the reflection of our image, that which we project onto ourselves and that which we think we project onto others. What could be more normal than wanting to correct a defect that simply bothers us, or even more profoundly complexes us? The surgical procedure is then experienced as a liberation that helps to reconcile us with ourselves and give us self-confidence. More precise, less invasive, today’s surgical procedures are safe, controlled and deliver natural results. Scars are increasingly minimal and often invisible.

Hospitalisation and anaesthesia are lighter. But behind this almost banalization, we mustn’t forget that plastic surgery is a genuine medical specialty. It must be practiced by surgeons who have been specifically trained in its practice, and who are able to engage in dialogue with their patients and listen to their expectations, while at the same time being educational about the solutions they propose.

This is my ethic as a surgeon. My patients’ satisfaction is linked to my understanding of their wishes and the passion for this profession that drives me.
